Company History

Apiguru Inc. was founded in 2013 by Master beekeeper Branislav Babic with the mission of preserving bees by testing hive designs and selecting Russian bee genetics.

In February 2021, Yoav Sasportas took over the company shares from his mentor, Mr. Babic, and has since led the company into a new era of growth and innovation.

Having been involved with Apiguru Inc. since 2015, Mr. Sasportas was already familiar with the company's operations and mission and saw its greater potential.

In 2017, he spearheaded the development of new technology for packaged bee production in Canada. The operations continued to evolve, transitioning from Langstroth hives to modified Layens hives in 2018, and focusing on more winter-resistant hive designs.

Under Mr. Sasportas's leadership, Apiguru Inc. has consolidated its operations and expanded its reach by establishing 100 colonies and increasing the number of retailers for its honey. The company continues to test and refine its hive designs, drawing on the documented expertise of Mr. Babic and other beekeeping experts, with the goal of creating healthier and more sustainable bee colonies for the future.
